Historic Preservation Meeting @ City Hall

The purpose of Centralia’s Historic Preservation Commission is to provide for the identification, evaluation, designation, and protection of designated historic and prehistoric resources within the boundaries of Centralia. The commission meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month in the Council Chambers at 118 West Maple.

Historic Borst Blockhouse Open House @ Borst Home
Jul 4 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

On July 4, the historical Borst Home and adjoining buildings will be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Fort Borst Park. On the lawn, they will have a to-scale display that shows the amount of living space Fort Henness had for the 224 people who dwelled there, including the Borsts and other local homesteaders, from 1855-1856.

Rain gardens are a great tool for filtering stormwater pollutants before they reach streams! Learn about using native plants to create habitat for birds and pollinators.
