CHEHALIS: A WATERSHED MOMENT is a 60 minute documentary film about Washington’s Chehalis River.
Faced with worsening floods and a prized salmon population on the brink of extinction, communities along Washington’s Chehalis River must decide whether to control the river with a new dam or adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Solo Together is a free four day opportunity for 13-18 year olds who have lost a loved one to explore the wild in their own neighborhood, engage in creative activities to connect with nature and process their grief, and connect virtually with other grieving teens and skilled guides. Our upcoming Find Work Friday on June 11th, 2021 from 1:30 – 3:30 PM will have a special focus on Youth and Student job opportunities. We have asked employers to indicate whether they offer paid internship opportunities, pay for formal job skills training, hire minor workers, or have entry level positions for job seeker who are 18 years or older. Youth and Student job seekers will be able to filter the employers based on the types of opportunities they offer during the live event. This will be the first virtual Youth and Student Focused Find Work Friday, but students are always welcome to attend any WorkSource virtual event.

If you are a grieving teen, this is a hike for you. It’s teens only so you will be others who get it about grief, have a chance to see how Wild Grief facilitates connecting with nature, your grief and each other. No previous hiking experience needed. We will hike through mountain meadows full of wildflowers, and have breathtaking views of Mount Rainier and Edmonds Glacier. We expect the hike to last at least 5 hours with time to honor our grief and soak up the beauty.
