Burnt Ridge Nursery founder Michael Dolan will lead a tour of our 20-acre organic fruit and nut orchard, with a focus on crops that ripen in the summer including blueberries, mulberries, and figs. Cultivation and propagation techniques will be discussed, as well as the specific characteristics of the varieties that do well here in the Pacific Northwest. Fruit samples and snacks will be provided to-go this year, and all events will be held outdoors in compliance with Washington state COVID guidelines. 2 tours: 10 am -noon and 1:30-3:30. Limit of 30 guests per tour. $15 per individual; $30 for a family (up to 4 people). Parking is limited, please carpool if possible. All are invited to join the Lewis County Stream Team for tree planting along Mill Creek! We are planting to improve water quality and salmon habitat. Come learn about stream restoration, beavers, and salmon. Work gloves, shovels, and snacks provided. Please wear appropriate footwear. Where: 266 Jeffries Road, Chehalis. From I-5 take State Route 6 West towards Pe Ell. Turn right on Chilvers Rd. Turn right on Jeffries Rd. Gravel parking lot is marked on the right after Glenview Drive. Look for salmon signs.
The Wynoochee River: Come Experience It!
Pack a picnic lunch and hang out at the river with us! Wade in, enjoy a swim, kayak and learn how to safely enjoy the river while also protecting its waters.
Community groups will be on hand to:
• Provide boater and water safety information
• Share knowledge and activities on salmon, water quality and stream flow
• Provide information on ways to get involved with Grays Harbor Stream Team and more!

Parking is limited. Please plan to carpool. Every half hour, a free Grays Harbor Transit shuttle bus will be available leaving from the Montesano Library.

Join Biologists Curt Holt (WDFW) and Teal Waterstrat (USFWS) to learn about these lesser-known, fascinating species. Both mussels and lamprey play a key role in the ecosystem of the rivers and streams and have a rich history in the Pacific Northwest. Learn about the challenges they are facing to survive and how you can help them! This event is free and family friendly.
