Nothing says spring like an Easter egg hunt. Thanks to both Ralph’s and Bayview Thriftway stores, kids 10 and under can bring their baskets to scour the store for a dozen colorful, egg-citing treats. Families should arrive by 10:30 a.m., and staff will organize them into groups for the search.

Make sure to enter Ralph’s Thriftway coloring contest. Return your coloring page to Ralph’s Thriftway on Wednesday, April 12, and winners will be selected on Friday, April 14.

April 17: Preorder Your Mother’s Day Brunch

Moms deserve all the best spoiling. Nothing does that better than a gourmet meal she doesn’t have to cook – or clean up after…hint, hint. But we’re not all Julia Child or “Chopped” grand champions, despite how many cooking shows are in your streaming queue. To help, Bayview Catering has put together a delicious Mother’s Day Brunch that’ll knock her socks off.

Serving between 6 and 8, brunch features Bayview’s signature deep-dish quiche Lorraine made fresh in-house with diced ham, spinach, green onions, gourmet cheese blend and eggs. This comes with a zesty fruit salad and Schwartz Brother’s lemon pound cake. The quiche can be reheated at home when ready to serve.

To order, visit the Thriftway website or call Bayview Catering at 360.357.8016. Preorders start on Monday, April 17 and run through Monday, May 8, at 3 p.m. Curbside pickup takes place Saturday, May 13, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. or Sunday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

April 22: Wild Alaskan Halibut Sale at Bayview Thriftway

Tired of heavy holiday meals? Switch to some light, healthy seafood instead. Saturday, April 22, is the annual wild Alaskan halibut sale at Bayview. Things kick off at 9 a.m. and run until supplies are gone. Buy a whole or half halibut, and their on-site fishmongers will fillet or steak it for free. They typically sell 1,200 pounds of fresh halibut each year, so don’t miss out.

Also for sale this year will be sweet, briny steamer clams and local Lilliwaup oysters. These world-famous Little Lillies come from Hood Canal and grow quickly in fast-moving spring-fed waters. Try a few yourself and look for their signature delicate cucumber aftertaste. Seafood pricing will be posted approximately one week before the event.

April 24: Houseware Appreciation Sale at Ralph’s and Bayview Thriftway Stores

When you’re finally done spring cleaning, it’s time to add in a few new items to perk up the kitchen and dining room. Thankfully, the Houseware Appreciation Sale runs from Monday, April 24 through Monday, May 8 at both Ralph’s and Bayview Thriftway stores.

Houseware department staff will do some spring cleaning of their own, so you’ll find seasonal delights perfect for next year’s holidays. But it’s not all overstocks. They’re shopping now for new and unique items to add to the fun, and purchases made during this time earn 10% back into your rewards wallet. Rewards points translate to cash back at the register you can use every trip, every day.

To find out all the goings on at both Thriftway locations, follow them on Facebook and Instagram or check out their website for job postings and links to the Bayview School of Cooking and other exciting activities. And don’t forget, the Bayview School of Cooking is more than just instructional. You can also attend themed meals or even field trips full of delicious tastes, smells, and flavors. Gift certificates make great Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation or just-because gifts. And that’s a surefire way to make spring 2023 special.
