Music fans will be returning to Lewis County the first weekend in August for the 22nd annual Pickersfest Music Festival. The festival officially starts on Friday, August 2nd and runs through Sunday morning, August 4th.

The three-day music event will feature acoustic music, including Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz, Americana and much more! The artists performing both Friday and Saturday include:

  • David Grier – one of the greatest flat picking guitarists in the world, David visits us from Nashville. He is a three time winner of the IBMA Guitar Player of the year award.
  • The Muddy Souls – the Souls are a leading progressive/jamgrass band featuring original songs, virtuosic improvisation, tight vocal harmonies and a high octane groove that will get you dancing!
  • Mark Gostnell and the Jacknife Poets – Mark is a singer/songwriter who has been influenced and inspired by Rock & Roll, Blues and Jazz. Mark performs originals with his very accomplished bandmates.
  • River Scheuerell and Friends – River Scheurell is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, playing fiddle, guitar, mandolin and other stringed instruments. He is a young artist carrying on the tradition of acoustic music in the Northwest, including Old-Time, Bluegrass, New Acoustic, Jazz and Celtic music.
  • The Union City Council – hailing from Union, WA in the Hood Canal area, these veterans of the Northwest music scene mix elements of Bluegrass, Old-Time, Fiddle, Blues, Gospel and Jazz.

Festival goers will be able to participate in jams of Old-Time, Swing, Bluegrass and Celtic music, so bring your instrument(s)! There will be a slow jam session on Saturday afternoon for musicians of all skill levels. The festival also features workshops on guitar, mandolin, bass, fiddle, banjo and songwriting, all for no additional charge! And there will be open mic opportunities on Saturday afternoon.

A weekend pass is only $30, and a daily pass is just $20. Camping is available in the park for only $10 per night. And, of course, there will be many opportunities to join jam sessions during the day and into the night!

Food is available at the festival, prepared by and supporting the Winlock Youth Baseball organization, starting at noon Friday through breakfast on Sunday morning. Pickersfest is also pet-friendly!

Seating is limited, so we suggest everyone bring their own lawn chairs.
