It’s time to get ready for spring! To assist you in having a successful growing season, the Master Gardeners of Lewis County are offering free “Gardening for Everyone” classes. Classes are scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 9:00-2:30 p.m. You can attend these free classes by simply pre-registering on Zoom!

There are four separate classes, including:

Planning a Vegetable Garden: 9:00-10:30 a.m.  In this class you will learn about selecting a garden site, soil preparation, seeds and plants selection, planting and harvesting your garden. Presenter: Don Enstrom, WSU Master Gardener.

Growing Tomatoes: 10:45-11:45 a.m.  You will learn about choosing the best varieties of tomatoes for our area and your family’s taste, growing and caring for plants from seed to harvest and avoiding and managing possible problems. Presenter: Barbara Eastman, WSU Master Gardener.

Rhododendron 101: 12:00-1:00 p.m.  Learn about successfully planting Rhododendrons, fertilization requirements and common diseases affecting Rhododendrons. Presenter: Karen Servey, WSU Master Gardener.

Low Maintenance Gardening: 1:15-2:15 p.m.  Is your current garden more drudgery than joy?  Well then, it may be time to re-evaluate your garden. Presenter: Mary Ann Albenesius, WSU Master Gardener.
