Fall is a wonderful time of year for sports fans. You have the baseball playoffs and football season begins. Those of us who bleed blue and green don’t mind the weather turning cooler because we know that means it’s time to move indoors and cheer on the Seattle Seahawks. In Lewis County, there is no better place to watch than O’Blarney’s at the Gibson House in Centralia.

“The energy from the crowd of sports fans here is just amazing,” says Jeff Malloy, owner of O’Blarney’s. “We have lots of regulars that really make it fun.” Bob and Flossie Heymann of Heymann Winery are two such regulars. Jeff says they are big Seahawk fans they sit in the same seats all season long. “When the Hawks score a touchdown, these two will get everyone doing the wave around the horseshoe bar top and other people have cheers they will get started,” he adds. “It’s definitely not something you will get at home watching the game by yourself.”

With a state-of-the-art system including 17 HD screens and both satellite and cable, O’Blarney’s is the premier destination in Lewis County for telecasting sports. With subscriptions to both Comcast and DirectTV, O’Blarney’s has access to virtually every sports channel including PAC12 network for those all-important Husky and Cougar games, and the NFL Sunday Ticket for cheering on the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL Sunday Ticket allows them to air every out-of-market NFL game.

“It’s pretty safe to say if you can’t see it at O’Blarney’s, you can’t see it in Lewis County,” says Jeff.

And with so many screens, Jeff says they can probably find you a spot, though audio is reserved for the featured game. They get fans of every sport and team. “We have many Duck and Beaver fans here too,” Jeff adds, laughing. “Of course, they can have audio if they are playing the Huskies.”

If a group of buddies want to watch and hear a non-featured game, reserve the small private dining room at no additional charge. “Often we will get a handful of Seattle Sounders fans in there and they can watch their game and not worry about the sound from the featured game,” Jeff explains.

During Seahawk games, O’Blarney’s has a special menu that includes fun foods such as the Hawk dog, Bam-Bam wrap and 12th Man nachos. They are still working on a few new items for this year’s menu as well. For their 10:00 a.m. kick off games O’Blarney’s offers an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. This year, the Seahawks only have one early kickoff game and that’s on Sunday, December 10 at Jacksonville.

O’Blarney’s shows every NFL game every week including Monday and Thursday nights and all day Sunday.

Jeff says the best part about watching the games at O’Blarney’s is the camaraderie. “We’ve had so many people who have built really great friendships by watching sports here,” he says. “It’s amazing how sports bring people together. We see it every weekend when people come together to watch these events and then they are out playing golf together or hanging out. And it starts over a beer watching a game. We love being the place everyone comes and all the friends we have made over the years as well.”

Go to Blarney For Many Sports, Not Just Football

If football is not your thing (gasp!), don’t worry, O’Blarney’s airs many sports including baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, boxing, and UFC. There are hundreds of sporting events each week and O’Blarney’s shows as many as they can.

In fact, O’Blarney’s is kicking off the fall sports season with what might well be the biggest boxing event of the season when Floyd Mayweather takes on Conor McGregor on August 26. This is the first time that a current UFC champion has ever challenged a boxer to a boxing match. A pay-per-view fight, O’Blarney’s will be airing, along with drink specials and of course, lots of Irish flags in honor of McGregor (what else would you expect from an Irish pub?). Drink specials will include 20-ounce Bud Light drafts for $3 and Budweiser bottles for $2.50 since they are the official sponsor for McGregor. Food specials are still being determined. The fight starts at 6:00 p.m. so come early, grab a seat, a beer and get ready for the fight of the century.  Advance tickets are available for $15.00 or $20.00 at the door.
