We all want to be healthy. We purchase healthy food, try and exercise, and get enough sleep. However, the very air we breathe, especially in our own homes might be undermining even our best efforts. With numerous impurities and toxins in our environment and today’s air-tight construction methods, indoor air quality has become a very real problem. And often, the main culprit inside a home is mold. Green Home Solutions of Olympia are experts when it comes to eliminating mold safely and effectively with no impact to people, pets or the planet.

Ana Ramirez and Dwayne Boggs, both long-time South Sound residents, own the Olympia franchise of Green Home Solutions. Dwayne, owner of well-respected home inspection company Boggs Inspection Service, discovered the company while attending a conference for home inspectors. Once he learned about the affordable, safe and science-based approach of the company, he knew the South Sound was the perfect place for Green Home Solutions.

“After more than 12 years in the home inspecting business, I’ve seen a lot of homes impacted by mold,” he shares. “And, I knew that there was a need in our area for honest, reliable and non-toxic mold mitigation options and this was a great fit.” He brought the idea to his longtime partner, Ramirez and the two were impressed by the science, solid infrastructure provided by the company and the science-based, natural approach to a serious problem.

Although she was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Jersey, Ana has called the Northwest home since 1996 and loves all the outdoor living the area offers. For 20 years, she’s worked with local dentist Dr. Rose Bailey. As a hygienist, she has always been passionate about educating her patients and empowering them to take care of their oral health. Now, with Green Home Solutions, she’s educating people on how to achieve a healthy home.

“For me, this was another way to help people, just in a different way,” she says. “I help people every day in dentistry. This helps them right in their homes.”

Joining Ana and Dwayne is Eddie Odoms, a father of two and US Army veteran. Eddie’s years of experience in sales and marketing are a tremendous asset to the new company. “I saw in Green Home Solutions a way to use my years of experience to help people make their lives better,” he explains. As the primary treatment specialist in the company, Eddie has earned the highest level certifications available in his field, assuring customers they have an expert on-site.

Green Home Solutions offers a new approach to mold mitigation. Using scientific testing and all-natural, environmentally friendly, enzyme-based products, tackling mold problems is now safe, effective and affordable. The products are Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered and safe.

“The non-toxic, ultra-fine mist is enzyme based,” explains Eddie. “It breaks mold down organically. It essentially attacks the fats and proteins in the mold, and the proteins are the allergenic part for most people.” The enzymes break up the mold at a molecular level, removing it from your home.

“Mold is everywhere,” Eddie explains. “We need it to help break down things in the environment. But certain types inside your home can cause serious problems.

Green Home Solutions begins by testing indoor and outdoor air quality, noting that this is the most critical reading taken. “If the sample on the inside is showing 10 times the level of the outside sample, we know there is something unhealthy going on,” says Ana. Swabs are used to collect samples and all of it is sent to an independent lab for testing with results delivered direct in 48 hours.

Once testing is completed, proper treatment can be applied. “Eight hours is all we need,” says Eddie, sharing that sometimes suspected mold problems turn out to be something else entirely, making the testing phase critical. “No one wants to pay for a treatment they don’t need.”

As part of a Green Home Solutions mold mitigation, third party post-treatment testing is recommended. “By having the home tested after treatment, we ensure our customers are getting what they paid for – a safe home free from potentially harmful mold,” Ana explains.

Often, mold problems are discovered during a home inspection prior to selling a home. However Ana and Eddie are seeing more and more home owners calling independently.  “People will call for three main reasons,” says Eddie. “They smell a musty odor, they have health concerns such as asthma or lack of focus, or they can visually see a mold problem.”

Dwayne, Ana and Eddie were all drawn to the business by its scientific focus and the surprisingly affordable cost, often 50–75% less than other mold mitigation options. And, with science on their side, they can educate customers about their options, not scare them. “It’s not fear based, but education based,” says Ana.

After Green Home Solutions visits your home, you can be confident nothing toxic is left lingering. “We leave behind a healthier environment for families and that’s all.”
