United Way of Lewis County’s Power of the Purse special event has brought together local women from all walks of life to celebrate the power of women’s philanthropy and leadership in Lewis County. Now in its 16th year, Power of the Purse has grown to be the largest women’s event in Lewis County; stimulating connectivity and passion for supporting the local community through United Way.

“United Way of Lewis County’s Power of the Purse event is an opportunity to connect with diverse and dynamic women as we ignite the power of women in Lewis County around reaching the community goal of lifting 30% of families out of poverty by 2030,” states Debbie Campbell, Executive Director of United Way of Lewis County.

Taking place on Tuesday, August 3 at The Barn on Jackson in Chehalis, hundreds of women will gather for an evening full of networking and socializing, purse raffles, and honoring United Way’s 2021 Woman of Distinction. The Woman of Distinction Award recognizes a local woman who is passionate about improving the lives of others by investing their time and talents with United Way of Lewis County and exhibits leadership, compassion, and commitment to serving those in need in Lewis County. To date, United Way has presented seven local women with this well-regarded award.

Proceeds from Power of the Purse fund United Way’s poverty reduction efforts in Lewis County, ensuring that families facing poverty have access to life-changing resources. Guests will also have the opportunity to support the local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

This year’s event sponsors include Pacific Mobile Structures, WSECU, 1st Security Bank, Wagner Orthodontics, Title Guaranty, John L Scott Real Estate and Columbia Crest Financial Advisors.
