The 4th of July is about patriotism, food, fun and – best of all – fireworks in Chehalis. We may not be able to congregate for parades or fireworks, but there are other creative options when it comes to having a fun and safe 4th of July. Here’s a complete guide on how to celebrate America’s birthday locally.
Chehalis
In Chehalis, don’t miss the 4th of July Parade – Americas Freedom hosted by the Veterans Memorial Museum. This static parade is drive-thru to ensure participants can be socially distanced and safe. From 12:00 – 4:00 p.m., enjoy floats and displays featuring historical groups and more from the comfort of your car.
Right next door to the Veterans Memorial Museum find the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad for a scenic and relaxing journey back into history through the Chehalis River Valley. Walk-ups are welcome to climb aboard with rides at 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4 and at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5.
Enjoy both events and more fun with games, free parking and space to spread out. Bring chairs and enjoy $15 ribs or chicken and sides from Bonanza BBQ Food Truck.
Celebrate America with these beloved traditions even if they are a little different this year. Enjoy time with your family, see fun fireworks displays, explore local history and eat yummy food for a festive 4th of July.
