This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.

Reach the Beach Washington welcomes riders from across the PNW on September 30, 2023 to enjoy a fast and flat century ride starting in Lacey, WA and ending with a celebration on the beach in Westport, WA. Riders can choose distance options ranging from 25, 44, 77, or 100 miles.
This unique and challenging ride, is the signature event of the American Lung Association and supports our mission to prevent lung disease and help the millions of people who are affected by lung disease in the U.S.
Getting involved as a bike rider or as a fundraiser is a wonderful way to show your support for someone in your life who has been suffering with a lung disease or in memory of someone loss. Ride on your own or gather your family and friends to ride on a team together!

Join a virtual volunteer orientation and learn more information about becoming a volunteer in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Mentor a youth in our community by spending a few hours each month doing things you both enjoy. Learn how we ignite the power and promise of youth with our proven system of support and safety.
A work party at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail to prepare the area for the planting of 400 trees and shrubs, later in November.
Snacks and drinking water will be provided. (Bring your own bottle.)
Please wear shoes and clothing appropriate for uneven ground and brushy conditions.
We ask that you pre-register for this event by email to “office@chehalislandtrust.org”. Please specify the number of people in your party.

Lewis County Stream Team is collaborating with Nicholle Stephens, a biologist with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, to learn more about native bats in Lewis County! Learn more about the benefits of bats for insect control. Find out how to create great habitat on your land. This is a free event.

Riparian Buffer Planting and Maintenance with Patrick Shults, WSU Extension (Walking Tour)
Join Lewis County Stream Team on Saturday, November 18th for an exciting in-person event where you’ll learn all about riparian buffer planting and maintenance! Led by the knowledgeable Patrick Shults from WSU Extension, this guided nature walk is a must for anyone interested in preserving and enhancing our natural environment.
Location: 266 Jefferies Road, Chehalis, WA, USA
Directions: From I-5 take State Route 6 West towards Pe Ell Raymond. Stay on SR 6 for two miles and take a right onto Chilvers Road. After one mile take a right onto Jeffries Road. Gravel parking lot will be marked and is on the right after Glenview Drive. Look for the Stream Team signs.

Join volunteers from the Chehalis River Basin Land Trust and the Lewis County Stream for a tree planting event at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail, on Monday, November 20th. We’ll gather at the trailhead, near the river, at 9 am, then proceed to the work area near the north end of the trail to begin planting.
Snacks and drinking water will be provided. (Bring your own bottle.)
Dress for the weather. Boots, gloves, and work clothes are recommended. We will have garden tools and some gloves available at the site.
