This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
HOPE on the Slopes, Ski & Ride for a Cure is a vertical challenge and fundraising event for skiers and snowboarders benefiting the American Cancer Society. Individuals and teams engage in a friendly competition for awards and prizes in two categories: Top Fundraisers and Top Vertical Feet Vertical is tracked by RFID or GPS scanning system. Together we will find a CURE! Together we will finish the FIGHT!
Historian Lorraine McConaghy will begin this program with an illustrated introduction to the war’s themes. She will follow that with a Readers’ Theater script, to be read aloud by willing participants. The script covers the period between Prohibition, beginning in 1914, through Seattle’s 1919 General Strike and the visit of President Woodrow Wilson.
Lt. Col. Larry B. Mason will share his experience in Vietnam and the events that led to him being awarded the Air Force Cross.
Guardian Friends of Lewis County will be hosting a flap jack breakfast at the Chehalis Applebee’s. Breakfast includes 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, scrambled eggs, and coffee, OJ or apple juice.
For each ticket you purchase, you will receive a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing to win a $350 gift certificate for the Great Wolf Lodge that was donated for this event.
The proceeds go to help local foster children in Lewis County. Guardian Friends helps meet the needs that the State does not cover. These needs include specialized therapy, tutoring, sports fees, driver’s education fees, summer camp fees, clothing, bedding and so much more.
In order for the event to take place, Applebee’s requires a minimum of 100 tickets to be sold. Buy your tickets now and help support local children in foster care!

This year’s theme, The Revenge of the Sixth, will be packed with Star Wars characters, goodies, decor and fun. There will be activities for fans of all ages.
Race check-in will begin at 9 a.m. The 5k will begin at 10 a.m. Games, vendor booths, and activities will go until 1 p.m.
There will be booths and vendors, an inflatable slide, performances by Mister Twister, the balloon artist, Star Wars characters, a photo booth, music, costume contests, and lots of prizes. Activities are open to runners and non-runners.

Runners and walkers must pre-register to be guaranteed a race T-shirt and swag bag. Race day registration is available, but T-shirts will be limited.

All prices will be $5 more per person on race day. There are competitive and non-competitive run and walk options.

Join more than 30 teams raising money for cancer research at this year’s Relay For Life, taking place at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds.
ll are welcome to pay their tribute and respects in this ceremony. At 2 p.m., the Museum will host a Veterans Tree of Life Celebration at the museum itself, 100 SW Veterans Way in Chehalis. The Westminster Bells, a bell choir from Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chehalis, will perform a benefit concert. Come join local military veterans, their families and members of our community in thanking those who paid for our freedom with the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day.
The 5th Annual Roxy Golf Tournament at Ironwood Greens, Glenoma, features 50/50 raffle, prizes, and events such as: Long Drive for men and women, Nearest the Pin for 2 holes for men and women. Participation fee of $30/person includes 12 holes and a complementary Roxy Theater movie ticket.
The home is open on the second Saturday of the month from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., April through October, as well as July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
