Presentation and Book Signing by Esther Barnette Goffinet @ Centralia Timberland Library

Author Esther Barnett Goffinet will read a synopsis of her book “Ripples of a Lie,” the story of her father Eugene Barnett who witnessed the 1919 Centralia Massacre. Goffinet knew several of the people involved and has deeply researched the incident. Based on her research, she concludes that Barnett was framed and imprisoned to keep him from testifying in court. Books will be available for sale and signing. This program is presented in partnership with the Lewis County Historical Society.

The Swingin’ with Dean Show in Olympia @ Olympia Timberland Library

A master of many musical styles and instruments, Dean Ratzman will entertain audiences at three Timberland libraries in August. Ratzman’s shows swing with music from the 1940s through Big Band, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Soul. From Sinatra to Santana, he taps into the musical memories of three generations.

Saturday, August 27 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Aberdeen TimberlandLibrary, 121 E. Market Street, 360-533-2360. This afternoon show features family-friendly tunes. Light refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library.

Local Musician Holds Songwriters Showcase in Centralia @ Centralia Timberland Library

Local songwriter and band leader, Bruce Maier, will host an afternoon showcase for the musically creative at the Centralia Timberland Library, Saturday, September 24 from 2 – 4 p.m.
This will not be Maier’s first such gathering, having hosted groups at local Centralia coffee shops. He will perform some original songs and provide a welcoming environment for networking, sharing music, and talking about anything, from inspiration to marketing.
Songwriters of all ages and all skill levels are welcome.
In addition to performing and recording, Maier runs the popular internet music magazine DamnGoodTunes.com
