Anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of meeting Adna’s Kody Rolfe knows his charismatic personality and unforgettable laughter. A remarkable young man with a big smile and a friendly demeanor, Kody is the kind of person who leaves a positive impression on all who know him.
In early May, 21-year-old Kody Rolfe, a seemingly healthy young man, suffered a severe stroke while working out at the gym. The stroke was caused by an arteriovenous malformation, a previously undetected brain abnormality. Since then, Kody and his family have faced significant uncertainty and financial strain, but they’ve met these challenges with incredible determination.
Following several days in a Tacoma hospital and later nearly two months at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, Kody, his mother, Christina (who has been with her son the entire time), and best friend Jacob Evans traveled to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago. Kody is currently in intensive rehabilitation, fighting to regain his independence and relearn basic tasks. The journey ahead is long, not only for Kody’s physical recovery from the stroke and prolonged hospital stay but also due to the mounting medical expenses.
“We want to thank the first responders and the life flight crew who undoubtedly saved Kody’s life that night, and to our fantastic community who has been an amazing support,” says Rolfe family friend, Stephanie Evans Parker.

Tickets are just $25 at the door, and the gates open at 4 p.m. with the event starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. All the fun is happening at Sandrini’s field located at 100 Robin Road East in Chehalis (in front of Adna High School).

Known for his hard-working determination, Kody’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance. With a personal mantra of “Do it Alone, Do It Broke, Do It Tired, Do It Scared, Just Do It,” this extraordinary young man needs the community’s help as he fights to recover and come home to his loving family, all while facing mounting medical bills and care costs.
