Pre-registration required. Composting Happens! Whether you plan or don’t plan your compost pile it will happen! Learn the whys, what manure does, how manure affects your compost pile, worm castings and worm tea, and how the Green Cone Digester works.
Our season starts on the first Thursday after St. Patrick’s Day and then meets every Thursday until the last Thursday before Halloween. We meet at 6pm at O’Blarney’s Irish Pub in downtown Centralia to begin our weekly run. We will have 6-8 different routes which we will alternate throughout the year. We end our run at O’Blarney’s to enjoy great food and some social time before we all embark on our respective Fridays!
Join the Olympia Mountaineers at the Hands On Children’s Museum to learn all about key outdoor skills! This is the third and final class of a 3-class series. We’ll be discussing camping gear, fire and food, and leaving no trace.
Join us for our radical home economics series! Drop-in and learn how to make sustainable and budget-friendly items for use around the house. Each program will have a different theme, with demonstrations and examples you can take with you. Come and learn new techniques or share your own DIY experiences! All supplies will be provided. Donna Lowery is a retired Army Sergeant Major, one of the first group of women selected to service in Vietnam. She put together a 20-member book team to research and collect these stories that chronicle the participation of American military women (other than nurses) who were stationed in the Republic of Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
