What: Discovery Trail Habitat Restoration Work Party.

Where: Centralia’s Discovery Trail, at the end of Goodrich Rd, Centralia.
Parking for volunteers will be at the old barn (look for signs).
When: 9 AM until 12:30 PM, Wednesday, May 19th, 2021.
Please join in with Chehalis River Basin Land Trust volunteers, the Great Old Broads and others as we continue habitat restoration work along Centralia’s Discovery Trail from 9 am until 12:30 pm, Wednesday, May 19, 2021. (See: Discovery Trail along the Chehalis River (lewiscountytrails.org)) Please arrive early to sign the waiver.
We will be weeding around recently planted tree seedlings and removing some invasive plants. Sturdy gloves and suitable work clothes are recommended. We will have facemasks as well as some tools and gloves available at the site. Please feel free to bring your own tools if you’d like.
Covid-19 Precautions:
The number of participants for this event will be limited due to Covid-19 concerns. Face masks and social distancing will be required in accordance with the latest statewide guidelines in effect at the time of the event.

Burnt Ridge Nursery founder Michael Dolan will lead a tour of our 20-acre organic fruit and nut orchard, with a focus on crops that ripen in the summer including blueberries, mulberries, and figs. Cultivation and propagation techniques will be discussed, as well as the specific characteristics of the varieties that do well here in the Pacific Northwest. Fruit samples and snacks will be provided to-go this year, and all events will be held outdoors in compliance with Washington state COVID guidelines. 2 tours: 10 am -noon and 1:30-3:30. Limit of 30 guests per tour. $15 per individual; $30 for a family (up to 4 people). Parking is limited, please carpool if possible. WorkSource is holding a FREE indoor Pop-Up Event at the Great Wolf Lodge in their Convention Center on Wednesday, November 3rd from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Come and chat in-person with WorkSource staff to learn about the resources we offer and how we can assist with your job search. Recruiters from multiple employers will also be present. Join the Lewis County Stream Team to plant trees on Saturday, February 12 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM! We will be planting along Wisner Creek and Mill Creek to improve water quality and fish habitat. Enjoy the beauty of nature and learn about stream restoration projects, beavers as ecosystem engineers, and Coho salmon in the Chehalis River Basin! Work gloves and tools will be provided. on SR 6 for two miles and take a right onto Chilvers Road. After one mile take

Work Party at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail
Saturday, March 26th from 9 am ‘til 12:00 noon

What: Discovery Trail Work Party to repair recent flood damage.
Snacks and drinking water will be available (bring your own bottle).
Due to hazards left by the floods, this event is not suitable for young children.
You must pre-register for this event. See instructions below.
Where: Chehalis River Discovery Trail, 1545 Goodrich Rd, Centralia. Parking for high
ground clearance vehicles will be at the old barn (follow the signs). Rides will
be provided as needed from the trail’s regular lot at the treatment plant.
When: 9 AM until 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 26th, 2022. Masking is optional.
