Hands On invites families of children with sensory sensitivities to join popular teacher Lahela Peterson and enjoy the museum before it opens to the public for “Special Mornings of Play.”
Led by museum educators, these are special events for families of children with autism or other special needs that provide a private, less over-stimulating time to experience the museum with other families who may share the same life experience.
Note: Whenever possible we create a quiet space with calming activities during normal weekend business hours. Noise canceling earphones always available free of charge.
Worm composting is a process in which red wiggler worms and micro-organisms are used to convert kitchen fruit and vegetable waste into nutrient-rich, humus. Enrich your gardens with this “black gold.”
Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs and movement games followed by 30 minutes of unstructured play. This is an early learning program.
Come learn more about the process of adoption from foster care to see if it is right for you.
