The 7th Annual Earth Day Celebration will take place in downtown Chehalis on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will highlight vendors and activities that focus on good health for our world, our community, and ourselves. The cohosts are Nature Nurture Farmacy and the Community Farmers Market of Chehalis.
Multiple farmers will have plant starts for sale for those who want to grow their own food and flowers. Other participants include Fungi Perfecti, Wise Woman Herbals, Madison Grove Farm, Chehalis River Basin Land Trust, and the Lewis County Conservation District. There will be music and face painting, as well. Nature Nurture Farmacy (NNF) will also host a seed-ball-making station and an “Ask a Farmer” booth, where attendees can chat with long-time farmers and seek advice.

The event will take place on Boistfort Street, in the same spot as the Community Farmers Market of Chehalis, which runs Tuesdays starting June through October. Last year was the first time for the two non-profit organizations to host the event together, as NNF held the first five celebrations on its own. With NNF’s focus on local food access, it made sense for the two organizations to join forces, and the 2024 Earth Day Celebration was the biggest one to date. Volunteers are still needed. Please contact info@naturenurturefarmacy.org if you are interested.
In addition, Experience Chehalis will host its Earth Day Community Clean-Up just down the road at the Lewis County Historical Museum during the same time frame. Downtown Chehalis will be the place to be on Saturday, April 26, with Ladies’ Night starting right after the two community events.
