He is very involved in FFA, where he has served as the Treasurer and Vice President his sophomore year, his junior year, he was Vice President, and this year he is serving as chapter President and District 3 President.

This is Joe’s third year at Winlock High School. He really appreciates his agricultural teachers, Mr. Walker and Mrs. Mahitkia. “They both have pushed me to be a great student-athlete and leader,” says Joe.

Winlock Joe Welch“I also want to thank Mrs. Hutson, my English teacher, for always pushing me to be the best student I can be.”  Joe’s favorite memory of high school is going to basketball camp and basketball seasons.

Joe’s advice to underclassmen would be to “get involved in as many activities as possible and enjoy each moment of high school.” What he loves the most about Winlock High School is he has been lucky enough to have been surrounded by great teachers, staff, and friends. He loves how supportive everyone is and the opportunities the school provides.

His plan after high school is to run for FFA State Office and attend Arizona State University and major in political science and minor in real estate.

Congratulations Joe!
