Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (LCPHSS) announced on July 19 that four more Lewis County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. None of these four are hospitalized. One patient is under age 10, one is in their 30s, one is in their 50s, and one is in their 80s.

Three of the four live in Commissioner District #2, and the other lives in District #3. New case totals by County Commissioner district are:

135 Lewis County residents have tested positive since the first case was reported on March 4, 2020. Thirty-five occurred during Phase 1, 14 more during Phase 2, and 86 more since Phase 3 began on June 19, 2020.

Eighteen of the 135 cases, or about one in seven of the people known to have been infected,  have been hospitalized at some time in their illness. Three of the 135 have died. Thirty-four of the 135 are considered recovered under the current definition of being alive and not hospitalized 28 days after symptoms began.

To date 4,892 Lewis County residents have been tested for COVID-19, with 135 (2.8%) testing positive.
