Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (LCPHSS) announced on June 27 that five more county residents have tested positive for COVID-19. Two of the people are in their 50, one each in their 40s and 30s, and one child under age 10. None were hospitalized. Four live in Commissioner District #1, and one lives in District 3.
This brings the total number of known county residents with positive tests to 69. LCPHSS Director J.P. Anderson said, “With 14 new cases reported in just the last 3 days, I can’t overemphasize how important it is for everyone to be following the time-tested non-pharmaceutical interventions we keep talking about – social distancing, cover and don’t touch your face, clean surfaces, and wash your hands a lot.”
31 of the 69 Lewis County cases are considered recovered under the current definition. Three of the 69 who tested positive have died. As of Friday, June 26, there have been nearly 3,000 COVID-19 test results returned in Lewis County with a 2.2% positive rate.
Positive test cases and recoveries have occurred in all areas of the county. Breaking them down by County Commissioner district shows:

District 2………… 27……………… 8
District 3………… 10……………… 7
