Dr. J H Roundtree (Mary Borst’s father) opened the first pharmacy in Centralia, “J H Roundtree’s “Drugs & Medicines in Centralia, WT (Washington Territory). Our 2 pm talk will be on who he was, where he was educated and his influence in our community. All are welcome to join us. Tour this wonderful historical site and bring friends/family.

Jean Bluhm is our Guest Speaker for May and will share about the rest of the Borst Family and community in her books: Joseph Borst Family Tree (1564 – 2022); The Borst Home Guide; Book 3 People who lived in … Borst Home Museum; and, Book 4 The Borst Museum Expanded. A deeper Look into the Past (on how the buildings help us see our past). Jean is always a pure delight.

picnic or BBQ … Enjoy your freedom with friends and family, readying for our 250th upcoming celebration.
Cursive is making a comeback … Why? What is it’s history? We will explore the why and how. With an opportunity to try it yourself. Open House, Carriage House, Pioneer Church, One Room Schoolhouse and Heirloom Gardens. Talk and penmanship at 2 pm at the One Room Schoolhouse.

Join us January 17, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Centralia College for a viewing of The Lost Salmon, which “chronicles the plight and potential recovery of the iconic spring chinook salmon of the Pacific Northwest. Faced with extinction in many river systems of the West, a new genetic discovery could aid in their recovery. Once teaming in the millions and a sacrament for the oldest civilizations in the Americas, time is running out for the genetically distinct wild salmon” (PBS). Come eat popcorn and discuss what we can do to help save this incredible fish that call our rivers home!

Join Lewis County Stream Team + the Onalaska Alliance to plant a variety of native trees and shrubs along Carlisle Lake! These plants will shade out invasive weeds, provide food and habitat for birds and pollinators, and provide beautiful blooms, berries and foliage for all to enjoy. Dress warmly and bring gloves and tools if you have them!

Join us at China Creek to celebrate our earth by caring for this important salmon habitat! We will be picking up garbage, removing invasive weeds, planting native plants and mulching with compost. Hear from the Lewis County and Centralia Stream Teams, Lewis County Noxious Weed Board, Centralia Clean Team and the City of Centralia on topics like composting, stream restoration, community clean-ups and how YOU can get involved in local environmental stewardship. Fun for the whole family!
