Time to learn how to shoot. Time to learn about defending yourself and those you love. Self-defense begins with “self”. Help isn’t always around when you need it the most. Come and learn.
I will instruct on the basic safety of firearms, how to grip, stand, aim, trigger press, and other issues involving firearms. If you do not have a handgun, I have a couple 9mm and a couple .22’s for you to try. Bring eye/ear protection (I have extra of these as well), your firearm if you have one, the proper ammo for that firearm, a baseball cap and a notebook to take notes. If you do not have a firearm, bring a box of 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22LR to use in my firearms.
Fee is $75 and preregistration is required with a $25 non-refundable deposit and $50 balance due at the door. Please call Dolly at 360-978-4338 to register. Space is limited so, again, preregistration is required.

Join the Lewis Conservation District and Mallonee Farms organic dairy for a cover crop planting demonstration! The no-till drill is available for rent at The Farm Store in Chehalis. The 1590 John Deere no-till drill features a 10′ working width and 7.5″ row spacing. It is great for planting grass, legumes, and grains. Come learn how to operate the drill and see it in action.
The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust will hold a Work Party at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail, near Centralia, from 9 am until 12 noon, on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022. We’ll be removing thistles, tansy and other invasive weeds from areas near the trail.
The Discovery Trail is at 1545 Goodrich Rd, Centralia. Follow the event signs to parking near the old red barn. Water, snacks, and other cold drinks will be provided (please bring your own bottle for water.).
Please dress for the weather and bring sturdy work gloves and footwear. We will have some garden tools and gloves available at the site but feel free to bring your own hand tools.

Burnt Ridge Nursery and Orchards in Onalaska will host weekly organic gardening classes this summer. In the first session, we will discuss how to plan gardens and home orchards and ways to add trees, shrubs, and vines to your existing landscape. We’ll also touch on planting for pollination, nitrogen fixation, sod removal, and mulching. Presented by Ben Kunesh, on staff horticulturalist.

Have questions regarding how a gun works, self-defense or any other topic involving firearms, this is the class for you. If you do not own a firearm I have several for you to try. Join the summer celebration at ChehalisFest, held each year on the last Saturday of July. This event offers activities for kids and families, car fanatics and folks of all ages throughout the day. Downtown Chehalis will be buzzing with summer fun! There will be a car show, live bands all day, beer garden, a vendor fair, kids’ zone, and local businesses will offer incredible deals! Come enjoy the lazy days of summer in downtown Chehalis!

You do not have to own a pistol to take this class. Come and learn what to take into consideration when purchasing your first firearm. I have several different sizes of handguns to try on for size. The fee for this class is $75 which includes a $25 non-refundable deposit, balance due at the door. Class size is limited to 6 so preregistration is a must. If there is not at least 3 registered for this class it will be rescheduled, so please register early to reserve your spot. Join us as we celebrate our 40th anniversary at our current location! We will have refreshments and TWO special performances by Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth. The first performance at 11 a.m. features interactive musical comedy and ventriloquism for kids of all ages. Their second performance at 1 p.m. will take (some of) you on a stroll down memory lane with folk songs of the 60s and 70s.
