Learn how to sharpen your garden tools from an expert. WSU trained Master Gardeners will be teaching the proper way to keep garden tools in top condition. Join us at 10am at the Providence Place Demo Garden.
Time to learn how to shoot. Time to learn about defending yourself and those you love. Self-defense begins with “self”. Help isn’t always around when you need it the most. Come and learn.
I will instruct on the basic safety of firearms, how to grip, stand, aim, trigger press, and other issues involving firearms. If you do not have a handgun, I have a couple 9mm and a couple .22’s for you to try. Bring eye/ear protection (I have extra of these as well), your firearm if you have one, the proper ammo for that firearm, a baseball cap and a notebook to take notes. If you do not have a firearm, bring a box of 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22LR to use in my firearms.
Fee is $75 and preregistration is required with a $25 non-refundable deposit and $50 balance due at the door. Please call Dolly at 360-978-4338 to register. Space is limited so, again, preregistration is required.

Learn about growing Lavender from WSU trained Lewis County Master Gardeners. Join us at Borst Park, Master Gardener’s Demo Garden on July 16th, 10am, for a in-depth class on growing Lavender.
Burnt Ridge Nursery and Orchards in Onalaska will host weekly organic gardening classes this summer. In the first session, we will discuss how to plan gardens and home orchards and ways to add trees, shrubs, and vines to your existing landscape. We’ll also touch on planting for pollination, nitrogen fixation, sod removal, and mulching. Presented by Ben Kunesh, on staff horticulturalist.

Have questions regarding how a gun works, self-defense or any other topic involving firearms, this is the class for you. If you do not own a firearm I have several for you to try. School has started and now is the time to educate yourself on firearm safety. Come learn firearm safety rules, how a handgun functions, how to load it, clear jams, trigger press, sight alignment, stance and more. Class size is limited to 6 attendees so register early. Don’t own a firearm yet, no problem, just bring 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22LR to use in one of the handguns I have. Eye and ear protection is required, but I have extra of those if you do not have them. A baseball cap is also required. The fee is $85 which includes a $30 non-refundable deposit. The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust will hold a Work Party at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail, near Centralia, from 9 a.m. until noon, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. We’ll be removing invasive plants from areas near the trail.
The Discovery Trail is at 1545 Goodrich Rd., Centralia. Follow the event signs to parking near the old red barn. Water, snacks, and other cold drinks will be provided (please bring your own bottle for water.).
Please dress for the weather and bring sturdy work gloves and footwear. We will have some garden tools and gloves available at the site but feel free to bring your own hand tools.
