This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
Hands-on class using softwood cuttings. Each attendee will receive both the book Cuttings Through the Year (given at registration and needs to be read prior to class) and a cuttings box. Cost per attendee is $40 to cover materials and is due when registering. Each attendee is expected to bring their own hand clippers and samples for propagation appropriate in July (details in book).
Class emphasis is the hands-on aspects of which cuttings when, preparation of cuttings, making your own cutting medium, growing conditions, and transplanting cutting into pots or the ground. Each attendee should finish with a variety of cutting starts to grow at home.

Learn about how water quality data is collected for temperature, bacteria, streamflow, and other conditions. Join Michael Dolan, owner and founder of Burnt Ridge Nursery, for a discussion of the vast number of apple varieties that grow well in the Pacific Northwest and how to grow them organically. He will also talk about the amazing Monty Surprise apple, the World’s Healthiest Apple, and the process of importing new plant varieties from abroad.

This will be a wine and dessert event for Chehalis River Basin Land Trust members and friends. We will have live music, a featured speaker, and live auction, along with updates on recent Land Trust projects and activities.
