This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
The Lewis County Historical Society’s Annual Dinner is Sunday, November 15 at 5pm. A $10 sit-down lasagna dinner will be served in the main gallery. There will also be green salad, rolls, and a wonderful Penny’s Cake for dessert. Diners will enjoy live music performed on our gorgeous grand piano. All interested in the Society and Museum are welcome! Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Museum or at the door on November 15.
This year, along with board elections and a slide-show presentation of the fun-filled activities of 2015, will also be discussing upcoming events, plans, and exhibits for our 2016 Year.

Sticklin Funeral Chapel presents XANADU (1980), the next film in the Historic Centralia Fox Theatre 2015 Film Series. The movie musical Xanadu was released on August 8, 1980. It stars Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, and Michael Beck. The soundtrack is by the Electric Light Orchestra and Olivia Newton-John, featuring duets with Gene Kelly, Cliff Richard, and rock band the Tubes. The movie also features an animation sequence by former Disney animator Don Bluth.
This movie will definitely bring out a large crowd … get your tickets early!

The Lewis County Historical Museum welcomes the public for the 5th Annual Evening with the Authors on December 4th from 4-5 p.m. for historical society members and 5-7 p.m. for the general public. Many local authors will be at the museum with several different genres of books from local history, fiction, non-fiction, inspirational, and children’s books.
Participating authors include Sandi Crowell, Jan Pierson, Mary Stone, Karen Frazier, Jake Blake, Roy Wilson, Buddy Rose, Julie McDonald Zander, Jennifer Shaw Wolf, Connie Jasperson, Lisa Burnett, Michael Hurley, and many others.

Chehalis River Discovery Trail Field Studies (complimented by City-led tours of Centralia’s Wastewater Treatment Plant)
The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust needs your help!
We are looking for enthusiastic, nature-loving volunteers to assist with our May 2016 Chehalis River Discovery Trail, (CRDT) field studies for local underserved school children, grades 4-8.
During the field studies, students will discover the benefits of healthy riparian corridors to salmon, wildlife—and to humans!
The field studies are generally held from 9:30am to 1:30pm.
Share your love of the outdoors with the next generation!
Come to our May 11th field training, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail and become ready to be part of this hands-on science and nature program. Trained volunteers may also help with free summer nature walks along the CRDT for the public!

Join us for this Lewis County Historical Museum – Fundraiser.
This is an open to the public fundraising event for The Lewis County Historical Museum with proceeds to help benefit the Museum.
Included with your $45 fee is everything needed to create the featured painting. You will receive step-by-step instruction by a qualified artist during the event and at the end, you get to keep your painting.
A full “no host bar” will be available during the event so participants can purchase beverages.

There will also be a small raffle for items including a Gift Certificate to a Merlot Canvas Paint & Sip, so bring some extra cash for the raffle!
