This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
Learn about the First Nations with LaVerne Kearns of the Kansas, Kickapoo and Muscogee tribes as she tells her journey of assimilation and finding The Red Road; the path back to her cultural roots. Along the way, typical stereotypes will be examined and myths of various tribal people will be dispelled. Learn proper etiquette for a pow-wow and other cultural events, what dances mean and how regalia reflects a person’s tribe. She will address cultural appropriation and why is it harmful, as well as why Degree of Indian Blood cards are important. A collection of artifacts will be available for viewing.

Hope Grange #155 meets for a potluck dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m., and holds its monthly meeting after dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Come peruse and buy amazing locally and regionally made crafts in the gym at this FREE weekend-long art show held in the foothills of Mt. Rainier and hosted by the Mineral Lake Lions Club and Mineral School. See or purchase original watercolors, oil paintings, acrylics, jewelry, quilts, fiber art, apparel, photography, wood work and carvings, artisanal soaps and foods, and much more! There will be art demonstrations and mini-lessons, a quilt gallery, and even a kids’ baking contest.
