This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
Come learn about basic pistol shooting. Safety rules, grip, stance, sight alignment and more. Now is the time to overcome the fear of firearms. If you do not own a firearm that is not a problem. Just bring a box of 9mm Luger and/or a box of .22LR and you can try the different ones I have available. Bring your firearm, appropriate ammo for that firearm, eye/ear protection (I have some to loan of those as well) and a baseball cap. Education is the first step to overcome your fear of firearms. Want to buy a pistol but don’t know what to look for, then this class is for you. Have a firearm you are not sure about all the buttons and levers, this class is for you. If you do not own a firearm, no problem. I have several for you ladies to try, you would need to bring a box of 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22 LR ammo to the class with you. The class is $75 which includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee. Preregistration is required. Work Party at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail
Saturday, March 26th from 9 am ‘til 12:00 noon

What: Discovery Trail Work Party to repair recent flood damage.
Snacks and drinking water will be available (bring your own bottle).
Due to hazards left by the floods, this event is not suitable for young children.
You must pre-register for this event. See instructions below.
Where: Chehalis River Discovery Trail, 1545 Goodrich Rd, Centralia. Parking for high
ground clearance vehicles will be at the old barn (follow the signs). Rides will
be provided as needed from the trail’s regular lot at the treatment plant.
When: 9 AM until 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 26th, 2022. Masking is optional.
Please join Chehalis River Basin Land Trust volunteers, the Great Old Broads and others as we work to repair recent flood damage along the Discovery Trail. (See: Discovery Trail along the Chehalis River (lewiscountytrails.org) Please arrive early to sign the waiver.
Sturdy gloves and suitable work clothes are recommended. We will have some garden tools and gloves available at the site. Please feel free to bring your own hand tools if you’d like.

The worst time to learn it is when you need that knowledge the most and yet know nothing.” Come and learn how to operate a handgun. Learn how to grip, align sights, press the trigger, how to stand and more. Don’t have a handgun, no problem. Just bring 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22LR and you can use mine. You can try a semi-auto in both 9 mm and .22LR as well as a .22LR revolver. To register call Dolly at 360-978-4338. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit required at time of registration and balance due at the door. Bring a notebook, eye/ear protection and a baseball cap.

WorkSource and the Capital Mall have teamed up to bring you a FREE Pop-up Job Fair on Friday May 6th from noon to 4:00 PM. This event will be hosted by Capital Mall at the indoor court in front of Macy’s.
Here is what to expect as a job seeker:

Guest Speaker Renee Corcoran will give a talk, in period dress, of her great-great grandmother Mrs. Sidney Ford (who settled Ford’s Prairie in Centralia, WA) in the mid-19th century. On site will also be some Pioneer Crafts and Trades Living Historians. Look forward to seeing you all.
