Vermiculture, or worm box composting, is a process in which red wiggler worms (also called manure worms) and micro-organisms are used to convert kitchen fruit and vegetable waste into nutrient-rich humus, “black gold”. Gardens and potted plants love the addition of this becoming healthier and more robust.

The Swingin’ with Dean Show in Olympia @ Olympia Timberland Library

A master of many musical styles and instruments, Dean Ratzman will entertain audiences at three Timberland libraries in August. Ratzman’s shows swing with music from the 1940s through Big Band, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Soul. From Sinatra to Santana, he taps into the musical memories of three generations.

Saturday, August 27 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Aberdeen TimberlandLibrary, 121 E. Market Street, 360-533-2360. This afternoon show features family-friendly tunes. Light refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library.
