Evening with the Authors @ Lewis County Historical Museum

The Lewis County Historical Museum welcomes the public for the 5th Annual Evening with the Authors on December 4th from 4-5 p.m. for historical society members and 5-7 p.m. for the general public. Many local authors will be at the museum with several different genres of books from local history, fiction, non-fiction, inspirational, and children’s books.

Participating authors include Sandi Crowell, Jan Pierson, Mary Stone, Karen Frazier, Jake Blake, Roy Wilson, Buddy Rose, Julie McDonald Zander, Jennifer Shaw Wolf, Connie Jasperson, Lisa Burnett, Michael Hurley, and many others.

Julie McDonald Zander will also unveil her new book, “Southwest Washington Fair” during the event. For only $29.95 you can purchase an autographed copy of the book at the event. As the Museum and Fair are the exclusive sellers of the book with very limited supply, hurry and get your copy today!

Master Gardener & Master Recyclers will be Recycling Christmas Trees, Holiday lights and Styrofoam
December 26 through January 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays at Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Avenue, Centralia.

Please … remove all decorations & tinsel from trees. Wreaths must be free of ribbon, wire and decorations. No flocked or artificial trees will be accepted. You may dispose of flocked, artificial or decorated trees at the transfer station where regular fees will be charged ($10 minimum for 200 pounds or less). No trees or wreaths from commercial operations will be accepted.

Styrofoam must be clean, dry, free of all tape and labels. Items that do not comply cannot be accepted.

Steps to Recycle Your Styrofoam:
1. Identify your Styrofoam
a. Look for the #6 Recycling Symbol or EPS inside the symbol
b. If you are unsure, bend the material. It should break, and you will notice individual beads of Styrofoam
2. Make sure Styrofoam is clean, dry and free of all tapes and labels. If not, please discard.
3. Place Styrofoam Recycling in clear bags.
a. Black or opaque bags will not be accepted
b. All colors of packing peanuts may be mixed, but all peanuts must be bagged separately (in clear bag) from Styrofoam pieces.
c. Bring Styrofoam and packing peanuts, bagged separately, to the Recycling Event during the hours listed.
