Join local researcher Shawn Murphy as he shares the story of the Bahada, an 86-foot steam tugboat built in Seattle in 1902. In 1926 the Bahada unexpectedly sank in the vicinity of Huckleberry & Saddlebag Islands. All nine crewmembers were lost and the cause of the sinking has never been determined. The presentation will take attendees through a history of the Gilkey Brother’s Towing Co., the Bahada’s history including its first sinking in Los Angeles in 1923, the crew, their family, subsequent search, raising attempt and what’s happening now.
Explore the science behind magic and investigate human phenomena as you navigate social challenges. Learn about optical illusions, how our brains send messages to our eyes, ears and hands and learn about the science of cute. Sip a cocktail and expand your mind as you play your way through the museum. 21+ only.

The Lewis County Historical Museum is holding their annual Evening with the Authors event. Twelve local authors will be in attendance to meet the public and sign their books. Books ranging from local history, travel, science fiction and many other subjects will be available. The new coloring book about Centralia’s George Washington will also be available.
Hors d’oeuvre and refreshments will be provided.
Bring the kids to listen to classic Christmas stories being read by Father Christmas at 10:00 a.m. (before the Santa Parade) and Noon (after the Santa Parade) December 2 at Book N Brush.
