Women learning to shoot pistols taught by a woman. Want to learn the basics, i.e. how to grip the firearm, load the firearm, how to use the sights, and how to press the trigger among other issues with firearms? Do you know when to shoot and when not to? Come and learn basics of handling firearms. Education helps keep you safe. If you do not own a firearm, that is not a problem. Preregistration is required for this class with a $25 nonrefundable deposit and $60 balance due at the door. Call Dolly at 360-978-4338 to register.
Join Lewis County Stream Team for a tree planting event at Olive Branch Ranch! We will be planting a mix of native trees and shrubs to create wildlife habitat and improve water quality. Celebrate Earth Day 2023 at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail with Lewis County Stream Team, Noxious Weed Control, and the Chehalis River Basin Land Trust. The work party will meet from 10AM-1PM on Saturday, April 22nd at the trailhead parking lot at the end of Goodrich Road. We will be removing invasive weeds from the trail to improve wildlife habitat. Please contact weeds@lewiscountywa.gov with questions or to RSVP.
Join us for a lesson in beginner bird-watching presented by the Grays Harbor Audubon Society. There will be stories and a hands-in binocular demonstration. All ages welcome!
On Saturday the Audubon will host a guided bird walk in Oakville, details will be announced at the workshop.
Are you ready to learn how a firearm functions? Don’t know how to choose a firearm you might want, then this class is for you. Learn the basics of how a firearm operates, learn about different ammo, how to grip the firearm, how to stand, line up the sights, press the trigger and more. If you do not own a firearm I will have several available for you to try. You would need to bring a box of 9mm Luger or Parabellum ammo and/or .22 LR (long rifle) ammo. You would also have to bring eye & ear protection as well as a baseball cap. The fee is $85 and you must call Dolly at 360-978-4338 in advance to reserve your spot. Can have 6 ladies in each class. Chico’s Celebrates 40 Years!
Join our Chico’s Outlet for a 40th Anniversary Celebration Event on May 3, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Chico’s has been designing women’s fashion for every woman, no matter what age or size since 1983. During this event, in-store special sales will be offered as well as a chance to win a raffle gift basket stocked with seasonal gardening goodies, with no purchase necessary.
Snacks and refreshments will also be provided during the event. Located just off I-5, Exit 82 at the Centralia Outlets.
The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust will hold a Work Party at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail, near Centralia, from 9 am until 12 noon, on Thursday, June 1st, 2023. We’ll be removing invasive weeds from areas near the trail and helping our recently planted native trees and shrubs to thrive.
The Discovery Trail is at 1545 Goodrich Rd, Centralia. Follow the event signs to parking near the old red barn. Water, snacks, and other cold drinks will be provided (please bring your own bottle for water).
Please dress for the weather and bring sturdy work gloves and footwear. We will have some garden tools and gloves available at the site but feel free to bring your own hand tools.
