School has started and now is the time to educate yourself on firearm safety. Come learn firearm safety rules, how a handgun functions, how to load it, clear jams, trigger press, sight alignment, stance and more. Class size is limited to 6 attendees so register early. Don’t own a firearm yet, no problem, just bring 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22LR to use in one of the handguns I have. Eye and ear protection is required, but I have extra of those if you do not have them. A baseball cap is also required. The fee is $85 which includes a $30 non-refundable deposit. Free and fun introduction to square dancing. A chance to get out and get moving. You’ll be dancing right away. Good exercise for body and brain in a friendly atmosphere. No experience necessary. This class covers the basics of pistol use. How the firearm functions, how to load a magazine, grip, stance, eye dominance, aim, trigger press and more. If you work weekends and have wanted to take a class, this one is for you. If you do not own a pistol, one will be provided, just bring a box of 9mm Luger/Parabellum and/or .22LR (long rifle) ammo. Whether you’re an amateur or a skilled cornholer, sign up for a friendly, fun evening or cornholing and raise some funds to help vulnerable children and build strong families through FESS’s vital programs. Fess serves families in Thurston, Lewis, Mason and Pierce counties. Tourney includes two divisions: two-person social teams for casual players, and an individuals’ super-switch competitive division, using ACL standards. The action will be overseen by the Twin Cities Cornhole League of Centralia and Chehalis. The competition comes in the form of teams (such as firefighters vs. police officers) challenging one another. Prizes go to the three top teams, and a cash prize will be awarded in the super-swith competition. Fun prizes also awarded for categories like “best cornhole costume.” The evening includes a silent auction and a DJ and entertainment by Bobby Williams, founder of the Bridge Music Project.
The event is adult-only The cost is $100 per team – $50 per team member – for the social event; $60 per individual for the competitive super switch event. Food and drink is an additional $25. Women learning to shoot pistols taught by a woman. Want to learn the basics, i.e. how to grip the firearm, load the firearm, how to use the sights, and how to press the trigger among other issues with firearms?
