If you’re looking for the perfect event to quench your taste buds while supporting United Way of Lewis County at the same time, don’t miss United Way’s premier fundraising event and top culinary event of the year – Chef’s Night Out. Slated for Saturday, June 15th at 6:00 p.m. at Jester Auto Museum and Event Center, this unique event brings together Lewis County’s finest chefs and restaurants under one roof for an evening full of culinary innovation.

Now in its 11th year, Chef’s Night Out is a must-do for foodies and culinary enthusiasts who want to experience the unparalleled talent of local chefs in Lewis County, all while supporting United Way’s mission of lifting 30% of families out of poverty by 2030.

This year’s extraordinary CHEFS UNITED team includes Darin Harris from Boccata Restaurant, Laurel Khan from Mackinaw’s & Curious the Bar, Donnie Stancil from McMenamin’s Olympic Club, Shane Wright from O’Blarney’s Irish Pub, Jack Heinselman & Kevin Bray from Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel, and Eric Bostick & Garrit Pannkuk from Hub City Grub.

Gather your friends and neighbors, slip into your favorite flip-flops and join United Way in Margaritaville on Saturday, June 15th.

Swing Into Summer Fashion Show & Tea Party @ 1165 Stillwaters Ave

Annual Pioneer Pie Social @ Historic Claquato Church

The annual Pioneer Pie Social happens Sunday, July 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the historic Claquato Church.

Over 30 pies will be up for live and silent auction as well as gift baskets and other items donated by friends of the museum. Live bluegrass music will be provided by The Lewis County Pickers.

This year’s auctioneer is Todd Mason. Enjoy pie by the slice, a game of corn hole, balloon animals, and the candy hunt.

The Daughters of the Pioneers will be giving tours of the historic Claquato Church.

Composting Basics @ Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library

Composting is a little like baking a cake. There are some basic science principles required to successfully create compost in the shortest possible time but the rest is art, allowing you to create a composting setup that works for you. The WSU/Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers invite you to attend a basic composting class. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about your own composting challenges as well. Participants who call (360)740-1216 and pre-register by 5 p.m. Sept. 9, will have a free compost bin reserved for them. (One bin per family please.)

If you are looking to have an evening of super duper fun where you can just laugh, gab and grub then this is the event for you! Zonta Club of Olympia collaborates with Open Road Productions and this year’s theme is an interactive 70s murder mystery. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

The cost for this fun evening is $75 which includes appetizers, dinner and the play. There will be a no-host cash bar.
