Join professional artist, Chiyo Sanada, for a beginning class in Sumi-e Painting and Japanese Calligraphy. Expand your creativity by trying your hand at this beautiful artform. Space is very limited, reservations required – so be sure to register early. Registration begins May 25th.
Join the Chehalis River Basin Land Trust for a day on by river removing invasive plant species along the Discovery Trail. For all work parties, please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. Youth under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult and all youth under 18 years of age must have a signed waiver to participate.

Composting is a little like baking a cake. There are some basic science principles required to successfully create compost in the shortest possible time but the rest is art, allowing you to create a composting setup that works for you. The WSU/Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers invite you to attend a basic composting class. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about your own composting challenges as well. Participants who call (360)740-1216 and pre-register by 5 p.m. Sept. 9, will have a free compost bin reserved for them. (One bin per family please.)
