Kim Ashmore, City of Centralia’s Public Works Director, will be presenting on stormwater management in the Chehalis River Basin. Learn about the impacts of nonpoint pollution on water quality and salmon. Hear more about what you can do to prevent pollution runoff at your home!
Each February we promote healthy smiles by joining with our dental community to offer free dental screenings right inside the Museum! Kids can pretend to be the dentist in our Puget Sound Dental Office exhibit and meet special guests like Amazon of Olympia, Batman in Seattle, and Tinker Fairy. Do you want to learn more about rain gardens? Join Stream Team and Bob Simmons from WSU Extension for a free workshop to learn the basics of designing and building your own rain garden. Rain gardens are a great tool for filtering stormwater pollutants before they reach streams! Learn about using native plants to create habitat for birds and pollinators.

Lewis County youth from 6th to 12th grades are invited to compete in the Southwest Washington High School and Middle School Chess Championships. The chess tournament, a Regional State Qualifier, will be held Saturday, February 4 at Centralia College. Entry is free, and chess players of all abilities are welcome. Women learning to shoot pistols taught by a woman. Want to learn the basics, i.e. how to grip the firearm, load the firearm, how to use the sights, and how to press the trigger among other issues with firearms? Do you know when to shoot and when not to? Come and learn basics of handling firearms. Education helps keep you safe. If you do not own a firearm, that is not a problem.
