Do you want to learn more about rain gardens? Join Stream Team and Bob Simmons from WSU Extension for a free workshop to learn the basics of designing and building your own rain garden. Rain gardens are a great tool for filtering stormwater pollutants before they reach streams! Learn about using native plants to create habitat for birds and pollinators.

The Lewis County Branch of American Association of University Women will hold its 43rd annual book sale at a NEW LOCATION this year:

Book prices start at just $3 for hardcover and $2 for paperbacks on Thursday, dropping to $2 for hardcover and $1 for paperbacks on Friday, and finally to just $5 for a bag of books all day on Saturday!
Thousands of fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, CD’s and DVD’s will be on sale.
Grow tomatoes with or without a greenhouse! In this class we will talk about how to grow tomatoes from seed to harvest covering topics such as choosing varieties, providing good growing conditions and keeping plants strong and productive.

Celebrate Earth Day 2023 at the Chehalis River Discovery Trail with Lewis County Stream Team, Noxious Weed Control, and the Chehalis River Basin Land Trust. The work party will meet from 10AM-1PM on Saturday, April 22nd at the trailhead parking lot at the end of Goodrich Road. We will be removing invasive weeds from the trail to improve wildlife habitat. Join us for a lesson in beginner bird-watching presented by the Grays Harbor Audubon Society. There will be stories and a hands-in binocular demonstration. All ages welcome!
On Saturday the Audubon will host a guided bird walk in Oakville, details will be announced at the workshop.

The Fuchsia Fanciers, a Lewis County group and nonprofit gardening organization, is hosting a fuchsia plant sale on May 6th here at the Centralia Outlets.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Eddie Bauer and Polo Ralph Lauren stores, the Fuchsia Fanciers will display and sell a large variety of fuchsia 4-inch starters, gallons, and hardies.
The group is one of 13 in the Pacific Northwest under the umbrella of the Northwest Fuchsia Society. The 26 members meet on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at Fort Borst Park. The Fuchsia Fanciers aim to educate themselves and others about the growing and showing of fuchsias.
