Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (LCPHSS) announced August 6 that 12 more Lewis County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of Lewis County residents who have tested positive to 215.
Three of the 12 new patients are under 10 years of age, two are in their 20s, three are in their 30s, one is in their 40s, one is in their 60s, and one each is in their 80s and 90s. None of these 12 are hospitalized today. The number who have been hospitalized at some time in their illness remains at 22. Three of the 215 have died.
Lewis County Public Health & Social Services also announced August 5 that two other Lewis County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the new patients is under 20 years of age, the other is in their 40s. Neither are hospitalized today. In addition, three more residents who previously tested positive are now considered recovered under the current definition of being alive and not hospitalized 28 days after symptoms began.
Five of these 12 new patients live in County Commissioner District #1, six live in District #2, and one lives in District #3. New case totals by Commissioner district are:

New data available shows 6,393 Lewis County residents have been tested for COVID-19, an increase of 109 from yesterday. Today’s positive test rate is 3.4 percent.
The Washington State Department of Health has established key testing metrics that identify goals for stopping COVID-19. For the 14-day period ending July 28, 2020, neither Lewis County nor statewide average testing data met any of the goals. They include:
