Despite the winter weather, now is the time to start planning for spring home improvement projects here in Lewis County. The 55th annual Home and Sportsman Show showcases some of the best local vendors to help with home improvement and sportsman needs. For three days, the show is packed with booths full of ideas for the home, garden and new this year, the added component of the great outdoors.

Looking to improve your home or lawn? The Home and Sportsman Show offers some of the most innovative home and garden professionals under one roof. These experts share their tips and tricks for any project big or small. Perhaps you’re looking for someone who can create a beautiful landscape or display garden for your home or business? Maybe you’re finally ready for that kitchen or bath remodel? The Home and Sportsman Show is the place to be this weekend for great local and regional vendors to help make ideas a reality.

For five and a half decades, this family-friendly event allows for home and business owners to shop and compare exhibits for all budgets and needs. Enjoy perusing the booths, while gathering information to compare prices on any size project.

Find quality home remodeling experts with displays on custom improvements including roofing, flooring, windows and more. Get tips from the pros on year-round home and garden maintenance. Financial experts will also be on hand to help navigate financing dream projects.

Bring the whole family for Kid’s Day on Saturday for tons of fun. The first 17 kids who sign up can show their engineering skills at the LEGO building contest hosted by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce and OMB. The building begins at 10:30 a.m. Stick around for the amazing magician Jeff Evans, performing at 1:00 p.m. Grab a fun coloring page for the kids and let them bounce at the Kid’s Zone hosted by Bethel Church all day Saturday and Sunday.

Spend the day and grab delicious quality food made from fresh, wholesome ingredients from Hub City Grub.

The LeMay shredding truck will be at the Home and Sportsman show on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., courtesy of Lewis County Solid Waste. Bring up to three bags of sensitive documents to shred securely; free with admission.

Be sure to sign up for the amazing raffle prizes all weekend long. Lincoln Creek Lumber is the generous prize sponsor again this year. Friday enter to win a Spoil Your Sporting Dog prize valued at $300. Saturday’s prize is a Garden Shopping Spree at Lincoln Creek Lumber in Tumwater for $250. On Sunday, enter to win the Fireside Package valued at a whopping $400.

New this year with the expansion of the sportsman aspect, find several new vendors with information and products for the outdoor enthusiast. Also, new on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., hear the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife give an informational talk about the hunter education division and two different methods of obtaining a hunter’s education certificate.

Jump into what’s new in home and garden improvement, hunting, fishing, outdoor sports and more! The Home and Sportsman Show is affordable family fun with free parking and admission is just $2 for adults, $1 for children and seniors and $5 for a family of up to five people.
