Kitty Kat Haven is a cage-free, no-kill, 501c (3) non-profit adult-only cat rescue in Lewis County. It is a 100% volunteer organization that provides a safe, loving, clean environment, which helps restore the emotional and physical health of the cats under their care. As well as providing shelter for cats with special needs,
they house adult cats in need of more time and attention than standard shelters can provide. And those cats unable to be placed live out their lives, in safety and comfort, with the sanctuary. The organization has procured a new public location for its Program Center located at 462 N. Market Blvd. in Chehalis. They will host Kitty Kat Haven’s 1st Annual Jack O’ Lantern Contest and Open House.

Children and adults can show off their pumpkin carving skills by entering the contest on Friday, October 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entry fee is $10 for children under 17 years old and $15 for adults over 18 years. Carved and decorated pumpkins can be dropped off at the new Program Center at 462 N. Market Blvd. in Chehalis. Details about entries can be found on the organization’s Facebook Kitty Kat Haven’s event site.

The Jack O’ Lantern Event will be on Sunday, October 27, at the Center’s Open House from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. The contest will continue to run through Thursday, October 31 ending at 6:00 p.m. The public will join in the fun by voting for their favorite carved pumpkin. There will be a raffle for guests who bring pet food donations for the Pet Pantry and prizes for the winning pumpkins. Come see the new facility, kitties and pumpkins!
