Chehalis School District Board members Joe Clark and Brian Roberts have announced their retirements from the school board effective at the end of their terms this next December. Mr. Clark joined the school board in the fall of 1999. “I am really proud of the great work in our schools and the focus on student achievement,” states Mr. Clark. “After 20 years of [volunteer] service, it’s time,” he shared. “I hope to see someone take my place who will provide some fresh ideas for the School District.”

Dr. Roberts was elected in November 2007. He shared that he and his family have moved out of his current director district, and that he is glad the law allows him to finish out his current term. Dr. Roberts commented, “The planning for new buildings and living through the construction of our two new elementary schools has been a great experience.”

Both Mr. Clark and Dr. Roberts expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have served their community. “We’ve both thoroughly enjoyed working with the Chehalis School District staff, our fellow Board members and community.”

Both gentlemen have been instrumental in leading the District’s efforts with its successful Student Achievement Initiative, STEM and CTE programs.
