This year the fun goes all week long! While ChehalisFest is traditionally a one-day celebration, this year, due to planning during a pandemic, the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team is hosting a week of fun in downtown Chehalis. This event offers activities for kids and families, car fanatics and folks of all ages throughout the week. Shops and boutiques will offer incredible discounts and sidewalk sales, special events, game tournaments, and more. Downtown Chehalis will be buzzing with summer fun!

And we’re adding something new to the mix! Join the Family Scavenger Hunt and seek out the outdoor locations throughout Downtown Chehalis. With each location visited, you’ll earn an entry into a drawing for $300 in local gift cards! The game is free to play and it’s all accomplished by scanning QR codes with your mobile phone. (Hint: start the hunt at the butterfly mural next to Market Street Bakery). Another game for shoppers is the Downtown Summer Stroll.  Shop participating downtown businesses and with each visit, the cashier will present a QR code for shoppers to scan and claim their entry. The same concept – with each shop stop, you’ll be entered into yet another drawing for $300 in local gift cards. Join the hunts all week long – and the more codes you scan, the better your odds to win!

Kids who look forward to a free ride in the clouds during ChehalisFest have no fear! This year at the Chehalis-Centralia Airport, Young Eagle flights with local Chehalis EAA 609 pilots will be available by reservation only all month long during July. These free introductory flights are available for kids age 8-17. Schedule their ride now at 360.701.1397 or 360.269.0070.

Saturday activities kick off with the annual blueberry pancake breakfast at the Lewis County Historical Museum from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. That afternoon a hot dog and hamburger lunch will be served in the kids’ area near the intersection of Prindle St. and Chehalis Ave. Browse the vendor fair where 30+ vendors will offer unique and fun items.

Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill is sponsoring the 1st Annual ChehalisFest Car Show on Saturday, July 31. Early registration is at 7 a.m. and the car show kicks off at 9 a.m.  Awards will be announced at 3 p.m. Listen to the music of Chris Guenther, Jeremiah, and Strike Nine that afternoon, performing near the car show from 10 a.m. – 6  p.m. Adults can enjoy a cool beverage while listening to tunes at Sideline’s beer garden from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Prindle Street. Live music moves inside and Strike Nine comes back for more fun at Sidelines from 9 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.

Annalee Tobey, executive director of the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team said, “We’re thrilled to bring back this summer tradition, celebrating some well-earned summer fun. After the year we’ve all weathered, we’re ready for some play time!”
