US 12 near White Pass is closed in both directions due to a wildfire.

Closure US 12 both directions

US 12 remains closed both directions over White Pass due to a forest fire and firefighting efforts. Eastbound traffic is stopped 13 miles west of the summit near MP 138 at the junction of US 12 / SR 123. Westbound traffic is stopped at MP 183, Oak Creek, two miles west of the junction of US 12 / SR 410. The estimated time to open the highway is unknown. The road will remain closed overnight, an update will be provided Thurs. afternoon. Access for local and recreational traffic is allowed. There is no thru traffic.

LOCATION: US 12, both directions, eastbound at milepost 138 near the junction of US 12 and SR 123, which is 14 miles west of the White Pass Summit. Westbound is closed at milepost 183 near Oak Creek.

DETAILS: Due to a wildfire in the area, US 12 is closed in both directions. Drivers need to take alternate routes because a reopening time is unknown at this time due to the nature of the incident.
