Submitted by Lewis County Auditor

The Lewis County Auditor’s Office was just made aware of a postcard that is being distributed nationwide by the United States Postal Service (USPS) regarding vote by mail. One of the items on the postcard tells voters to request an absentee ballot if planning to vote by mail. This is not necessary in Washington State.

The State of Washington is an all vote by mail state. If you are already registered to vote there is no need to request an absentee ballot. A ballot will automatically be mailed to you on October 9. The USPS says it can take up to seven days to receive them. Ballots should arrive in mailboxes the week of October 12 – 16.
