Centralia College East in Morton and the Fire Mountain Arts Council are offering an alternative for the summer quarter – an online opportunity to create and express the feelings and emotions the coronavirus pandemic has generated.

Creating Art from Crisis is a two-credit elective course developed and taught by Lynne Olmos. A non-credit option will be available, as well, for those not interested in college credit.

The class will have meeting days and times but will be conducted virtually. Participants will be preparing monologues or small group presentations. There will be a performance – either virtually or live, depending on the restrictions – at the end of the class in mid-August.

This is an opportunity for individuals, families, and small groups to work together to creatively explore the emotions and experiences that have arisen out of the current pandemic. Olmos describes it as “monologues as time capsules.”
