If you’re looking for a fun night in with your family while supporting a great cause, United Way of Lewis County is hosting the first-ever Chef’s Night IN event; a virtual dinner and an online auction that is set to kick off Saturday, May 2 at 6:00 p.m.

Debbie Campbell, Executive Director of United Way of Lewis County states, “United Way’s annual Chef’s Night Out event is our largest fundraiser. We count on our fundraising events for roughly one-quarter of our operating budget, and our small-but-mighty United Way team and event volunteers prepare for this event for many months. This year, our annual event was scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2020 and we had anticipated over 260 guests and our fundraising goal was $100,000. With the “Stay Healthy, Stay Home” order, we put our creative thinking hats on and after evaluating our options, decided it was best to cancel the in-person event, yet still engage with our donors with a new way with Chef’s Night IN. I’m proud of the work done by the committee and staff to move forward and provide an amazing experience for our donors.”United Way

Chef’s Night IN will feature a mouth-watering take ‘n’ bake style dinner created by our team of talented local chefs; Laurel Khan of Mackinaw’s, Jay Ryan of Hub City Grub, Darin Harris of Boccata, Dawn Merchant of Dawn’s Delectables, and Kevin Bray of Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel.

“As chefs, we are excited to participate in a little piece of history for United Way and bring the community this unique and delicious dining experience,” says Chef Laurel Khan of Mackinaw’s and Curious.

To participate in the dinner & online auction, folks have the opportunity to purchase tickets for this unique event by visiting United Way’s website at www.lewiscountyuw.com/chefs-night.

A special VIP dinner package is available, where dinner can be delivered to your home on the night of the event.

The online auction portion of the evening will kick off May 2 at 6:00 p.m. and close on Monday, May 4 at 5:00 p.m., featuring an array of live and silent auction experiences up for bid.

During the virtual event, guests will also have the chance to “raise their paddle” and support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, sponsored locally by United Way and the Lewis County Rotary Foundation.
