SCJ Alliance is pleased to announce the addition of its newest engineer, Mallory Dobbs. Mallory worked as a civil engineering intern at SCJ for the past year while finishing her degree at Saint Martin’s University (SMU). Mallory is the first of many intern-turned-employee success stories the firm plans to foster.
“We have a commitment to a supportive and mentoring culture for all our employees, so interns are a great fit for our team,” shares SCJ’s Senior Vice President Jean Carr.
Mallory graduated from SMU in May and will continue her work in the civil engineering group for SCJ, a consulting firm specializing in civil engineering, transportation planning and design, environmental and urban planning, landscape architecture and design, and public outreach.
“Mallory is a hard worker, quick learner and a great person to be around,” said SCJ Civil Engineering Manager Brandon Johnson. “She played a significant role in our success as a team this year, and we’re honored she chose to stay here after graduation.”
This summer, SCJ has welcomed three more interns to their Lacey office. As Mallory was, Madeline Knecht is a civil engineering student at SMU. She is working in SCJ’s transportation design group this summer and during the school year. Darian Clemens is on summer break from Montana State University, where he is working toward a degree in construction engineering technology. He is interning in SCJ’s civil engineering group through the middle of August. Carlos Gemora is on summer break from Cornell University where he is enrolled in the Master’s in Regional Planning program. He will be working with SCJ’s transportation planning group until he returns to New York in August.
“Interns bring fresh perspectives, new energy and unbridled passion to the working world,” SCJ President Perry Shea said. “Keeping them on after graduation is a win for them, a win for us, and a win for our local economy.”
