This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
This April, Ballet Theatre of Washington brings their beloved production of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice back to Centralia College’s Corbett Theater. This show will feature the best young dancers in southwest Washington, and will have magical effects created by award winning magician Jeff Evans. It will also include amazing professional circus acts from the Portland area. All of this combines into a magical spell that will entertain and enchant theatergoers of all ages.
Shows are Friday April 20 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday April 21 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are only $10 for adults and $8 for kids, students, and seniors, and can be purchased at Book n Brush in Chehalis, Holley’s Place and Centralia Ballet Academy in Centralia, or online at brownpapertickets.com. Burnt Ridge Nursery founder Michael Dolan will lead a tour of our 20-acre organic fruit and nut orchard, with a focus on crops that ripen in the summer including blueberries, mulberries, and figs. Cultivation and propagation techniques will be discussed, as well as the specific characteristics of the varieties that do well here in the Pacific Northwest. Fruit samples and snacks will be provided to-go this year, and all events will be held outdoors in compliance with Washington state COVID guidelines. 2 tours: 10 am -noon and 1:30-3:30. Limit of 30 guests per tour. $15 per individual; $30 for a family (up to 4 people). Parking is limited, please carpool if possible.
