This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
Join us for an informative talk on tackling Aquatic Noxious Weeds and the required applications and permitting for applying herbicides in and over water bodies.
We will be learning how to identify various aquatic & riparian weeds, what an NPEDS permit is and how to obtain one, then, after a short break, we will be hearing from WSDA representatives on how to apply for a WSDA Noxious Weed Control permit and how to navigate the SAW website.
There will be three pesticide license credits available for attendees.
If you would like to join us in person, we have reserved the lower-level BOCC room in the Chehalis Historic Courthouse.
Call or email Danika Davis with any questions or to register with your pesticide license number.

Join us live on Zoom for stories, rhymes, and songs in English and Spanish. You will also receive an activity guide with song lyrics and activities to try at home!
Acompáñanos en vivo por Zoom para cuentos, rimas,y canciones en inglés y español. ¡También recibirá una guía de actividades con las letras de las canciones

Lewis County Noxious Weeds is giving you an in-depth look at some of the harder-to-identify noxious weeds that are (or may be) present in the Toledo/Winlock part of Lewis County.
We will learn:
- To identify Poison hemlock vs. water hemlock vs. wild carrot vs. chervil. How to tell them apart, and how to address them safely.
- How to recognize the inconspicuous differences between native Cow Parsnip and highly caustic Giant Hogweed.
- Tell Tansy Ragwort vs St Johnswort vs Common Tansy.
- Meadow knapweed vs. Canada thistle vs. Bull thistle vs. native thistles.
Everyone is invited to attend this free informational event. We will have handouts and light refreshments and be available for any questions or concerns regarding noxious weeds.
