Drive down any back road in Lewis County, and you’re likely to encounter a farm stand. With farm-fresh veggies, tasty baked goods, fabulous flowers, and more, these roadside stands are a wonderful way to connect communities with convenience. Buying directly from local growers, bakers and crafters benefits both sellers and shoppers and strengthens community.
Avery Road Gardens
670 Avery Road, Winlock
Avery Road Gardens is a newer farm stand near Winlock offering a growing mix of fresh, locally produced goods, from chicken and duck eggs to colorful cut flower bouquets, seasonal produce, bedding plants and other rotating farm crops.
Regular hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with appointments available Friday through Sunday.
The Bread Shed
106 Carlisle Lane, Onalaska
The Bread Shed is a cozy, sourdough-focused stand where every baked item is made with the signature tang and texture of sourdough. Owned by Ken and Faye Mullins, this cute stand in Onalaska offers a friendly, small-batch baking full of homemade flavor.
The stand welcomes visitors every Wednesday and every other Saturday.
Chehalis River Farm & Gardens
171 Highway 603, Chehalis
Located along the Willapa Hills Trail and Highway 603, Chehalis River Farm & Gardens is a homestead and trailside farm stand in Chehalis. Jeremy and Carri grow and make a variety of seasonal goods, including sedum plants, eggs, berries, lavender and pumpkins.
The stand is currently being upgraded to a larger setup, so look forward to fresh bread and treats in the coming weeks following approval of their cottage bakery license.
Open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset.
Daisy Field Farms
109 South Spruce Street, Pe Ell
Pe Ell’s adorable Daisy Field Farms is one of the area’s few year-round indoor farm stands, offering local artisan products, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, local honey, baked goods, canned goods, handmade tallow, goat milk and shea butter soaps and lotions, plants and vegetable starts.
Open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through September 30 and open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from October 1 through April 30.
The Farmstand on Jackson
5102 Jackson Highway, Toledo
The Farmstand on Jackson brings together a thoughtful mix of homemade and locally sourced goods, with an emphasis on sourdough baked items, farm-fresh eggs, fresh-cut flowers and handmade pieces. Shoppers can stop by this adorable stand in Toledo for simple, seasonal finds, from wholesome pantry staples to small gifts and floral accents.
The stand is currently open on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Happy Day’s Homestead
260A Chilvers Road, Chehalis
Happy Day’s Homestead is an honor-system farm stand just outside Chehalis, offering homemade baked goods, fresh eggs, jams, sourdough bread and locally made items from other small businesses. Popular favorites include Nutter Butter sandwich cookies, brownies, whoopie pies, sourdough bread and fresh eggs.
Spring and summer hours are Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Mandas Munchies
1009 Logan Hill Road, Chehalis
A drive up Logan Hill will lead you to Mandas Munchies, which features a tempting assortment of homemade sourdough breads, freshly baked cookies and Mandas Munch, a sweet-and-salty white chocolate-covered potato chip treat. Fresh sourdough bread is currently available by preorder, with orders accepted Thursday through Sunday night.
Open Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until dark and is also open Thursdays if items remain available.
Three Sprout Homestead
735 Coal Creek Road, Chehalis
In Chehalis, find Three Sprout Homestead, which focuses on making sustainable, healthy products affordable and accessible. The fun stand offers beeswax candles scented with essential oils, beeswax wraps as an alternative to plastic wrap, sourdough, brookies, seasonal mini loaves and eggs.
The homestead also hosts a community pantry with food, clothing, and household goods. Bartering is welcomed and encouraged, with a posted list of items or services the farm is willing to trade for, so cost is not a barrier.
The small farm operated by Alexandria Matison raises Dexter cows, mini-Nubian goats, chickens, ducks and geese, and hopes to offer more homegrown produce in the future, with a special focus on affordable pumpkins.
Open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until dark.
Wildwood Bakery Stand
2455 Wildwood Road, Curtis
Take a cruise out in the beautiful Boistfort Valley and discover this tiny roadside bakery stand where they sell homemade sourdough loaves, cookies and cinnamon rolls. Most known for their cookies, specifically the s’more cookies, these sweet treats are a must-try.
Open typically on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until sold out, but people can always check their Facebook page, where they list days open and what is on the menu that week.
Wishful Thinking Homestead
247 Pleasant Valley Road, Winlock
A drive down the lovely Pleasant Valley Road leads to Wishful Thinking Homestead, which offers farm-fresh chicken and quail eggs, spring plant starts, flower baskets and seasonal garden produce as available, including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, green beans, sweet peas, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, zucchini, yellow squash, winter squash, rhubarb and apples.
The self-serve stand is always open, with a cash-only honor box.
Wonder Flower Farm
303 Coma Road, Winlock
Winlock’s Wonder Flower Farm does not currently keep set hours, but when the lovely flowers are in full bloom from late summer into fall, beautiful bouquets are expected to be available nearly every day.
The charming farm also accepts custom flower orders and offers a build-your-own bouquet rental cart for weddings, events, farm stands and U-cut appointments.
